End in Sight!
The past few days have been exciting. We now have a working dishwasher, working range, tile backsplash, under cabinet lights, and hardware on all of our drawers and doors.
We had a small set-back after our replacement hood arrived. It was damaged and the wrong model, so a new one has been shipped out and we are hoping the third time will be a charm.

Water!!
We've been without a kitchen sink since January 24th and I'm so excited to say that today we got our sink back! Bob also drilled the holes for all of our cabinet knobs. The countertop people came back to level out the marble on the island as well. We had some fun putting our dishes, glasses and crystal in our cabinets.

The Fridge!
Today we moved the refrigerator from the garage into the kitchen. Now we don't have to walk outside in the morning to get Campbell's milk or Jeffrey doesn't have to freeze while getting me a treat (Moose track ice cream,...) late at night. We also slid the range in its place because they are coming to do the template for the counter tops tomorrow.

The Island
Today Bob brought in the frame of the island. We were pretty nervous about seeing the color for the first time, but we love it. All of the doors, drawers, etc. will go on later. Here are a few pics of where the island will sit.
Bob also put the hanger on the pipe for the washing machine, so we have a working washing machine again! He also ran the heating/air vent that will come out under the island right under the sink base.

Shiny Floors
Yesterday the floor guys came and applied two coats of polyurethane. They'll come back and do a light sand and 3rd poly coat later after everything else is finished with the renovation. The smell was really strong, so we spent the night away last night and we're staying away again tonight. Jeffrey made it by the house today to take a couple of pictures.

Hardwood Floors! - Tuesday January 25th
Today they laid all of the new hardwood floors. Then they sanded down the existing floors with the new floors and re-stained.
Everything Out - Monday Jan 24th
Today Jeffrey and Vicente finished removing everything from the kitchen. Here is a pic of the empty room.
Bob and Jeffrey encountered a plumbing problem when they were removing the drain pipes for the kitchen sink.
Needless to say, the old cast-iron pipes were allowing very little drainage. They had to be replaced with pvc piping all the way back to the 4-inch main.

Color Decisions
The kitchen is coming along and our hardwood floors are set to go in Tuesday - Thursday of this week. After that, the focus will be on our kitchen cabinets, so we have to make some color decisions about our island.
We are doing shaker style bead board cabinets in white, but we want to do a color on our island. We are deciding between some blue and gray colors. Here are 3 of the Sherwin Williams sample colors we have tried.
